This guide provides the detailed steps to configure and activate tablets (such as Android devices) for the first time to work as point-of-sale (POS) terminals within the Revest system. It covers everything from linking the device to the system, to pulling data and ensuring readiness to issue invoices.

Step 1: Prerequisites (From the Back Office)

Before using the tablet, the system administrator must define this device in the Back Office to create a new POS terminal and generate its activation code:

  1. From the Back Office, navigate to General Setups > Stores, and select the store where the device will operate.
  2. Go to the POS Setups tab and click Add new to create a terminal, specifying the device type as ANDROID.
  3. After saving, the system will generate an Activation Code or a QR Code. Keep this code handy for use in the upcoming steps.

Step 2: Launch the App and Select Language

After installing the Revest POS application on the tablet and opening it for the first time:

  1. The Select Language screen will appear.
  2. Choose your preferred interface language (Arabic or English).
  3. Click the Next button to continue.

Step 3: POS Activation

This step securely connects your physical tablet to the POS terminal profile created in the system:

  1. The POS Activation screen will be displayed.
  2. Enter the Terminal ID / Activation Code you obtained from the Back Office, or click the Scan QR code button to use the device's camera to scan the code.
  3. Click the Activate or Proceed button.

> Important Note: The activation process is performed only once per device. Once an activation code is used on a specific tablet, it cannot be reused on another device.

Step 4: Initial User Login

Upon successful activation, you will be directed to the login screen:

  • A list of users assigned to this branch will appear. You can select your name from this list or click Add new account.
  • Log in securely using your email or username and password.
  • As an additional security measure, you may be prompted to enter a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 5: Comprehensive Data Synchronization (Hard Sync)

Because this is the device's first time running, the system needs to download all relevant store data:

  • Once you log in successfully, the system will automatically initiate a Hard Sync process.
  • A Loading Data... screen will appear alongside a percentage indicator tracking the progress.
  • During this phase, the system extracts and downloads all core data from the central server to the tablet (including products, categories, customers, settings, and price lists).

> Alert: Please do not close the application or disconnect from the internet until the process reaches 100% to ensure complete data integrity.

Step 6: System Ready for Sales

  • Once synchronization is fully complete, the system will prompt you to confirm your identity using a quick access PIN Code or password to unlock the screen.
  • You will be directed straight to the Dashboard or the Sales Screen.
  • The device is now fully configured, securely connected to the internet (the indicator will show green), and ready to start adding products and issuing invoices to customers.
